Public Speaking isn’t just a question of the content to be delivered, but also, the way it is delivered and who it is delivered by.
I was contacted by the organisers of the EU Music Meetup 2022 to introduce the event to both the ~150 participating audience members in Amsterdam, and the thousands of viewers online on the Twitch platform.
My role following the opening speech was to introduce the artists on stage, and help manage the musicians to ensure every musician participating got a chance to share their music.
Despite having adept public speakers on the team, the organisers of the EU Music Meetup 2022 were keen to have me speak at the event from hearing me speak on my livestreams and at previous charity music events. The organisers felt more comfortable providing short speeches and updates, and having someone introduce them on stage to convey the importance of what they had to say.
I tailored my speeches to be quite energetic, with a focus on supporting each other, love and community, as per the theme of the group.
Finally, as a musician myself, it was a pleasure to talk to other musicians following their performances. I received stellar feedback on my speaking, with much praise on demeanour, and correct name pronunciation for musicians from all over the world.
